The Accessibility Standard in Customer Service is the first standard to be developed and implemented. The deadline for public sector organizations to comply was November 1, 2017. Small municipalities, non-profit and private sector organizations must be in compliance by November 1, 2018.

The First Regulation

The Accessibility Standard in Customer Service is the first standard to be developed and implemented. The deadline for public sector organizations to comply was November 1, 2017. Small municipalities, non-profit and private sector organizations must be in compliance by November 1, 2018. The Accessibility Advisory Council also requires public sector organizations to create Accessibility Plans and update them every two years. Large public sector organizations were to have an Accessibility Plan in place by December 31, 2016; smaller public sector organizations must comply by December 31, 2017.
